Pinterest craft

Fun Photo Holder

Do you pin a thousand craft ideas but never get round to doing them. Well here is one easy craft.
Trace around a plate, approximately 25cm, then a smaller one for the centre on thick cardboard. I used an old vegies box from my local fruit and veg shop.
Then cut out cardboard with a craft knife, carefully!!
Trace around cardboard onto some coloured card and cut out.
Lay out pegs evenly around edge. Then glue into place with PVA glue.
Leave to dry. Attach to wall with a few balls of blue tac. And there you have it a clever little photo holder or note holder whatever you want holder.

Wow it's been a while!

It's been a long time between posts. A lot has changed since last time as I took a year off to study then had a baby the next. So now we have three girls. We are drowning in a sea of pink!! Also we moved house and are now living in a beautiful part of the Hawkesbury, Bowen Mountain. Please check out my Facebook page for what has been happening a few new things there

Sweet Dreams

Finally finished!!! After a month and a half of work (slow) I have transformed a bed that was destined for the scrap heap.
I found this wonderful plain teak bed on the side of the road for curbside pick up and thought it looked nice. Only problem was it didn't have bolts or slats but after a few trips to Bunnings I had all my supplies. So I started sanding the bed and then the mouse sander died and had to continue by hand. I then painted of few areas pink and then 4 coats of sage green later we have a painted bed. After this I rubbed back the areas of pink and a few other edges, to give it that shabby sheek look, and coated it twice with polyurethane to stand up to a three year old.
I found the word at Spotlight and gave it a few coats of pink, I really love using spray paint, and just blue tacked it on so if she wants to change it years down the track it's no prob.
I really love this bed and so does the little princess who sleeps in it and I'm so proud of the work it's the first time I tackled something so big :)

First days and cupcakes.

All the first days have happened now for my two girls. Next week it's my turn, starting TAFE on monday and doing 3 full days a week!!!! I can't wait for Alice to get home and find out how her day went :)
I think I must admit I have a cupcake problem! I LOVE making them and after making I can't even eat them :( I did the pink ones for Sages birthday and the others she took to school on the first day for all her class.

Upcycled.

I whipped up this little number for my youngest last night for a party today. It is made from all upcycled material and the lace is from my mother's sewing box so it could be as old as me and some vintage buttons to finish it off. It's so cute on I will take a photo later as she will probably be wearing it all day and night (she LOVES it!). Have a great weekend everyone :)

The start of 2012.

WOW summer has finally arrived with long hot days but some lovely mild evenings. With holidays upon us we decided to pile in the car and go for a drive to Wisemans Ferry.
This is looking down onto Wisemans Ferry. It looked so peaceful from up there and with the binoculars you could see heaps!

Alice loved the wattle and wanted to bring it in the car but pretty little yellow pom poms kept falling off so it was a big no in the new car.

Sage just loves seeing new places and being in the great outdoors.

The next day we went to the bike track out at Clarendon so the girls could burn off some more energy as well as Dee (the dog).

All were super tired after a walk and then swing in the park but wonderful Nanny turned up with cold drinks and fruit for a quick snack.
I am really enjoying these school holidays and I know there is only 4 weeks till Sage is back at school and I'm off to TAFE so I plan to do lots of fun things with my beautiful (I think so!) girls and my precious little Dee (the dog :).
